We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cell Operator to join our team at Kirchhoff Automotive. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating assembly equipment, following work instructions, and ensuring the quality and quantity of parts produced meet required specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate assembly equipment as assigned, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.
- Follow work instructions, Standard Operation Sheets (SOS), Job Element Sheets (JES), and packing instructions for all assigned operations.
- Load and unload parts in/out of welders, dies, trunions, and/or assembly fixtures, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Operate equipment that welds, stamps, presses, crimps, stakes, and/or rivets together parts and/or sub-assemblies, adhering to quality and safety standards.
- Perform manual assembly, welding, and tapping operations as required, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ensure quality and quantities of parts produced meet required quality specifications and production rates, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Perform light, routine maintenance on assigned equipment, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Fulfill all necessary paperwork associated with the job, including start-up checklists, pre-shift inspection sheets, labor tickets, scrap records, downtime tracking sheets, quality assurance checks, and product identification tags.
- Contribute to a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment by applying the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize, and support).
- Comply fully with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- No minimum experience is required, but a strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.
- Ability to read and demonstrate understanding of documents such as safety rules, work instructions, maintenance instructions, employee handbook, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to apply basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, as well as rounding numbers and calculating averages.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and sound judgment to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels in a team environment.
- Ability to use hands to grip, finger, handle, and/or feel parts, wear required personal protective equipment, and use tools that vibrate.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and write, as well as repeatedly lift, reach, push, pull, carry, bend, twist, and stoop with parts, boxes, or other objects weighing up to 40 pounds within allotted times.
- Ability to use close vision, depth perception, and adjust focus to visually inspect part quality to standards.
- Ability to work overtime for shifts of up to 12 hours per day, seven days a week, in hot or cold environments, and in loud environments requiring hearing protection.
