Job Summary
The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a Graduate Student Assistant to support the Social Work Department. As a Graduate Student Assistant, you will assist with various tasks and projects, gaining valuable experience and skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
- Support social work staff with tasks, such as preparing reports, conducting research, and developing programs.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on social work-related topics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including patients, families, and community partners.
- Assist with special projects, such as program development, grant writing, and event planning.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Council of Social Work Education accredited graduate/Masters Social Work degree program.
- Graduate school contracted with DSH Napa.
- Provide confirmation of enrollment from graduate school.
- Graduate school requires minimum 20 hours internship per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a social work setting.
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
