As a Security Specialist II within our Youth Residential Services, you will be instrumental in creating a safe and secure atmosphere for program participants, ensuring their protection and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of participants and staff during assigned shifts.
- Conduct regular security perimeter checks, including thorough inspections of vehicles.
- Stay updated with training programs, maintaining proficiency in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR/First Aid.
- Assist in the development of Emergency Plans and participate in drills.
- Complete Daily Staff Communications to document contributions during shifts.
- Maintain communication with the team via a charged walkie-talkie at all times.
- Contribute to the safety and security of the site during any disturbances.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two (2) years of experience in security or a related field.
- Valid driver's license preferred but not mandatory.
- Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Responsibility (IDFPR) is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional communication abilities.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Capability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Effective problem-solving skills in non-standard situations.
