Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Speech Therapist to join our Home Health Care team. As a Speech Therapist, you will provide safe, therapeutic, age-appropriate speech therapy to improve or restore communication and swallowing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and reassess human language, voice, speech, and swallowing disorders using appropriate tests and measures.
  • Establish a plan of care with measurable short-term and long-term goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Interact and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and healthcare goals.
  • Reassess patient progress toward short-term and long-term goals and modify the plan of care accordingly.
  • Educate patients and families regarding patient status and plans of care.
  • Provide home exercise programs to patients and families.
  • Complete and maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation reflecting the assessment, examination, plan of care, education, intervention, and evaluation according to Federal, Department of Health (DOH), and The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements.
  • Implement and modify appropriate interventions/treatments based on patient response and status in conjunction with the plan of care.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • Current and valid NYS Speech and Language Pathology license and registration.
  • 1-2 years in a hospital or medically related environment with experience in communication, cognition, communication disorders, and dysphagia.
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral), interpersonal, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification of Clinical Competence, Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $75.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
