Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Boiler Mechanic to join our team in the Central Heating Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate electrical high-voltage boilers, gas-and-oil-fired boilers, and gas-fired boilers in the Central Heating Plant and other university locations as required.
  • Monitor boiler operations, report any abnormalities or problems, and make adjustments or troubleshoot issues as instructed.
  • Perform preventive and semi-routine maintenance on boilers and related mechanical equipment, including internal inspections and preparation for annual testing.
  • Supervise the unloading and storage of fuel oil.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a high school diploma and two years of relevant experience. You should also possess working knowledge of techniques and procedures for operating high-pressure steam boilers, good mechanical aptitude, and ability to follow written instructions and directions.

Preferred Qualifications

Three years of relevant experience is preferred.
