Starbucks Barista

This role is responsible for preparing coffee shop beverages and food, operating cash registers, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare coffee shop beverages according to set standards.
• Prepare food items according to procedures.
• Ensure food and beverages are handled in a safe manner and according to established guidelines.
• Operate cash registers to process payments and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Stock items and rotate merchandise displays to maintain a visually appealing store environment.
• Maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations.
• Understand and operate check-stand equipment and coffee shop equipment efficiently.
• Notify department leads or managers of product and supply needs.
• Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, and product handling.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department, adhering to company safety and sanitation procedures.
• Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers, modeling high standards of service.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills and ability to interact politely with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills, with attention to detail.

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate may be required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. The work environment is typically a retail store with varied temperatures and moderate noise levels.
