Compelling Opportunity for Respiratory Therapist RRT

About the Role:

  • This full-time position is available in NIGHTS with weekend rotation, offering a dynamic and challenging work environment.
  • As a Respiratory Therapist RRT, you will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering patient-centered respiratory care, ensuring that every individual receives the highest level of care possible.

Responsibilities:

  1. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, including diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
  2. Administering respiratory care therapies, such as oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy, to support patients' breathing needs.
  3. Assisting with placement of artificial airways and initiating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical ventilation to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  4. Notifying providers and intervening as necessary in response to unintended patient reactions or complications.
  5. Transporting ventilator-dependent patients safely and efficiently while maintaining a focus on patient well-being.
  6. Responding promptly to emergent situations, ensuring airway integrity, and providing adequate ventilation during resuscitation efforts.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of an Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate in respiratory therapy or a related field.
  • Current State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification is mandatory.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
