Job Summary:
NESC Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating facilities and equipment to determine the appropriate fire protection requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Code Compliance: Understand and apply state and local codes and standards, including IBC, IFC, NFPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Project Management: Proactively manage and communicate fire protection requirements to internal and external clients on assigned projects.
- Design and Documentation: Generate code and hazard analysis review documents, detailed fire protection specifications, piping and instrument diagrams, and hydraulic calculations.
- Review and Quality Assurance: Review detailed sprinkler and alarm drawings/calculations for accuracy and compliance with codes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Communicate with city and local officials and apply for city variances as needed.
- Professional Development: Independently apply knowledge and maintain a culture that supports the implementation of quality.
- Experience and Qualifications: Minimum of 8 years' experience performing fire protection engineering-related duties, with a Professional Engineer registration in Fire Protection or Mechanical engineering.
- Industry Expertise: Experience or familiarity with Power Plants, Oil and Gas processing facilities, Water treatment facilities, or Data Centers.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, drive for results, schedule and priority awareness, planning, conflict management, informing, listening, and ability to deal with ambiguity, customer focus.
- Technical Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards.
- Company Knowledge: Intermediate knowledge of company quality program, construction and constructability practices and principles, procurement and contract administration.
