Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Catering Cook to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Catering Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner options
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a safe and sanitary environment
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including utensils, equipment, and storage areas
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer requests and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
  • Follow all food safety and handling procedures, including proper storage, handling, and disposal of food
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to improve skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment preferred
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
Working Environment

The Catering Cook will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with exposure to heat, cold, and noise. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities is essential.
