Lead Medical Assistant in Primary Care

The Lead Medical Assistant in Primary Care plays a crucial role in collaborating with Mercy Primary Care Providers to ensure the delivery of safe, timely, and effective patient care. This position is essential in fostering a patient-centered approach while working within a systematic framework.
The Lead MA will engage with patients, healthcare providers, and the broader clinical team to enhance quality outcomes for all individuals under our care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination of patient care activities.
- Support the primary care operations team in achieving operational excellence.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with the clinical team.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Experience:
At least one year of relevant patient care or medical office experience is preferred. New hires are required to participate in MA Clinic Academy training. Candidates with a minimum of two years of documented Medical Assistant experience are encouraged to apply. The Lead MA will also serve as a community preceptor for new Medical Assistants.
Performance Metrics:
Ability to anticipate patterns and connect issues, considering broader implications beyond immediate challenges.
Certifications:
Required: BLS certification.
Preferred: Active certification as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant from an accredited certifying body.
