Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Technician to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, surgical areas, and other high-touch areas using hospital-approved cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
  • Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms at discharge and prepare rooms for new patients.
  • Operate various cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and vacuums.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency requests, including spills and biohazard cleanups.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure continuity of service and meet patient needs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
