Job Summary

Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceutical and medical imaging equipment. This role requires adherence to professional and departmental protocols to provide the physician with diagnostic images to identify and/or plan appropriate treatment for the patient's condition. The ideal candidate will possess strong behavior and communication skills that align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills is a 150-bed hospital serving the fastest growing area of San Antonio. Our hospital offers specialized care, including orthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women's services, a newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascular care, and more. We also have an Outpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas, one of which houses our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Health Center.

Responsibilities
  • Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Adhere to standards for radiation safety and for appropriate waste separation and disposal of radioactive agents by performing specific tasks mandated by Federal, State, and Hospital policies.
  • Document daily all calibrations and flood films for all Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment, Dose Calibrator accuracy check, Hot Lab area survey, dispensed pharmaceuticals, and radioactive source disposal.
  • Practice safe handling of radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures at all times.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, as prescribed by the Physician, by adhering to established procedures.
  • Perform periodic quality control tests, documenting according to Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting required.
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical Radiology setting is preferred.
  • Current State Licensure required.
  • BLS required.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB required.
