St. Luke Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Supervisor to join our team.
Job Summary:The RN Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating the administrative and clinical activities for the nursing department during a designated shift. This includes evaluating and directing resident care, assuming charge/medication/treatment nurse duties in emergency situations, and making independent decisions regarding nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate administrative and clinical activities for the nursing department
- Evaluate and direct resident care
- Assume charge/medication/treatment nurse duties in emergency situations
- Make independent decisions regarding nursing care
- Examine and give emergency treatment to residents and first aid treatment to visitors or staff involved in accidents
- Notify the Medical Department regarding resident emergencies and complete incident reports and necessary documentation
- Investigate and handle resident and personnel problems, consult with and notify appropriate Department Heads as needed
- Make staff assignments for the next shift and readjust as necessary following collective bargaining contract language
- Monitor and assist residents in the dining room for meals
- Ensure physician orders are carried out accurately
- Perform assignments as directed by the Administrator, Director/Assistant Director of Nursing
- Take calls from staff not coming in to work and arrange for coverage for nursing staff
- Complete all required documentation and notify the appropriate Department Heads of call-ins for their departments
- Night supervisor makes rounds of entire building, checks doors, and ensures alarm system is activated
- Graduate of an approved school of Nursing
- Current registration in the State of New York and current RN licensure required
- At least 3 years of clinical and managerial experience in a long-term care facility preferred
- CPR certification required
