Music Therapist Specialist

About the Role:

As a Music Therapist at Sevita, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for setting goals and developing personalized plans to assist consumers in their progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide written documentation of services and submit reports in a timely manner
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency
  • Interact professionally with consumers, parents, school staff, and other providers
  • Stay up-to-date with current treatment technologies, literature, practices, and regulations
  • Familiarize yourself with Medicaid/insurance regulations
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings as necessary
  • Maintain a working knowledge of equipment safety procedures and protocols

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy or completion of an approved Music Therapy Equivalency Program
  • Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC)
  • 6 months of experience working in Music Therapy
  • Training Requirements During Employment: Complete all assigned training, including successfully completing the IFSSA/DDARS waiver training module

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Must be free from communicable diseases
  • Must have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with clients and colleagues
