Job Title: Behavior Specialist

Job Summary:

The Behavior Specialist will work under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services to develop and implement behavior support plans, attend meetings, and provide technical assistance with behavioral issues as needed in Shared Living homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive behavior analytic services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities within their natural environments.
  • Develop and maintain supportive working relationships with individuals, families/guardians, and staff.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate comprehensive functional assessment-based behavior support plans targeting reductions of challenging behavior and acquisition of replacement skills.
  • Assist in the screening of prospective participants and communicate with initial referral from Case Management or DDS Service Coordinator.
  • Be familiar with regulations and statutes governing the human rights of program participants.
  • Implement the Seven Hills Foundation Policies & Procedures, site-specific policies, and regulations governing the program.
  • Transport participants if needed to facilitate treatment interventions.
  • Act as a role model and provide contextual training of staff in the integrated therapeutic model.
  • Participate in activities as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Treat individuals with respect and dignity and in an age and culturally appropriate manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in addition to four years of behavioral intervention experience.
  • Master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, special education, or related field preferred.
  • BCBA or professional licensure preferred (e.g., LMHC, LICSW).
  • Professional training and experience in mental health, acquired brain injury, and/or positive behavior support (PBS) preferred.
  • Supervised training and experience delivering comprehensive behavior analytic services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities within their natural environments.
  • Knowledge of human development, learning, behavior analysis, positive behavior support, collaborative consultation, and abnormal psychology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Valid drivers license, ability to drive, and means of consistent transportation.
