Job Title: CT Technologist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, verifying patient identity, and reviewing patient medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure.

They will also be responsible for interviewing patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assessing risk factors such as medications, pregnancy, and/or psychological indicators.

The CT Technologist will explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up. They will set up equipment and acquire appropriate images as per script.

They will review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologists. The CT Technologist will recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate.

They will provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and clinical skillset, with the ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse atmosphere with a variety of hospital personnel and/or patients.

Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Computed Tomography (CT) preferred.
  • Required to have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.
  • One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology or advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT).
