PeaceHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Labor & Delivery Unit in a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Night shift role. The salary range for this position is $74.48, with the actual hiring rate influenced by various factors such as job responsibilities, location, collective bargaining agreements, education, training, work experience, seniority, and performance.

Role Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care while adhering to professional standards and unit protocols. You will foster a collaborative environment with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Key Duties

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care requirements.
  • Document patient interactions in accordance with established standards.
  • Direct and delegate tasks to team members based on their qualifications and competencies.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance personal effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of hospital policies, quality improvement initiatives, and safety programs.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Education

  • An accredited nursing degree is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, or newborn care is required.

Licensure and Certifications

  • Required: Oregon State Nursing License.
  • Required upon hire: Basic Life Support and NRP certifications.
  • Required within six months of hire: ACLS certification.
  • AWHONN Basic and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course must be completed within the specified grace period.

Skills

  • Knowledge of age-specific growth and development principles.
  • Ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships and a patient-centered environment.
  • Proficiency in supporting and interpreting medical center policies and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to handle patients weighing up to 35 lbs. without assistive devices.
  • Fine motor skills for operating medical equipment.
  • Frequent lifting and pushing of medical carts.
  • Ability to perform CPR as needed.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.

Environmental Factors

  • Exposure to biohazards and body fluids.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.

Mental and Visual Requirements

  • Vision and hearing must be within normal limits.
  • Effective communication skills are required.
