Job Overview

Position Summary:

As an Electrical Systems Technician at Forum Energy Services, Inc., you will be integral to the assembly and production of electrical systems. This role encompasses the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, particularly focusing on 480-volt 3-phase systems. You will be expected to interpret blueprints, construct and wire electrical panels, and engage in various facility maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities and demonstrate the capacity to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team. In addition to electrical assembly, you will conduct electrical maintenance and repairs across facilities, buildings, and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, populate, and wire electrical panels and interconnects in accordance with specifications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems, delivering prompt and effective solutions.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including 480-volt 3-phase systems.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Perform facility maintenance tasks, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and general building repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards in all electrical work.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Maintain precise records of all electrical work performed, including maintenance logs and repair documentation.
  • Assist in planning and executing facility upgrades and enhancements.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency electrical issues.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to team members as required.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and control systems.
  • Proficient in utilizing electrical testing and diagnostic instruments.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and manlift.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience in the construction, population, and wiring of electrical panels.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and transport heavy equipment and work in diverse environmental conditions.

Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical technology is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical technician, specifically with 480/690-volt 3-phase systems.

This position is classified as safety-sensitive.
