Job Overview

REPORTS TO: Fitting Supervisor/On-Site Foreman/Shipyard Superintendent

PRIMARY DUTIES: Operate a variety of machinery daily to transport materials in accordance with the directives from the Superintendent, Foreman, or Supervisors. Demonstrate a strong work ethic with an emphasis on productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Safely transfer loads to the construction site and ensure proper discharge.

· Capable of securing loads to the crane or lifts.

· Conduct daily inspections of equipment and machinery.

· Maintain and update maintenance logs and daily activity records.

· Set up machinery based on load specifications.

· Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

· Follow directions from foreman/supervisors on-site and maintain cleanliness at the job site.

· Perform additional tasks as assigned based on operational requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

· Prior experience and knowledge as a crane operator or in operating shooting boom forklifts.

· Proficient in operating 80 ton Grove GRT880 All-Terrain crane.

· Skilled in operating 130 ton Link Belt RTC All-Terrain crane.

· Experience with various Shooting Boom Forklifts.

· Competent in operating Skid Steer machinery.

· Ability to safely follow instructions with minimal supervision.

· Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

All forms of physical movement are necessary for this role to effectively perform essential functions.

  • Ability to utilize upper and lower extremities
  • Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to crawl, kneel, crouch, climb, and maneuver around equipment
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 75 pounds

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Normal visual acuity is required. Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions. Normal hearing ability is necessary. Hand-eye coordination is essential.

HAZARDS: Exposure to weather conditions, fumes, moving mechanical parts, equipment, and vibrations.
