Position Overview:
The Senior Corporate Accountant leverages expertise in accounting methodologies to facilitate the preparation and consolidation of both internal and external financial reporting functions for the organization. This role encompasses leadership responsibilities for centralized accounting operations pertaining to subsidiaries and joint ventures.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Master's degree and/or CPA designation is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting within a publicly traded entity is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and procedures (U.S. GAAP).
  • Experience with the month-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Prior experience with JD Edwards general ledger system or similar platforms is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with a professional demeanor, demonstrating reliability, strong organizational skills, and effective time management.
  • Willingness to adapt to change and a commitment to continuous learning; a self-starter is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to foster collaborative relationships across the organization.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Oversee month-end closing activities, including accounting journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger accounts in a timely manner.
  • Analyze financial and business outcomes for respective subsidiaries and joint ventures, as well as consolidated results.
  • Assist in the preparation of both internal and external financial reports.
  • Generate ad hoc reports as necessary.
  • Document and manage specific processes and controls in alignment with the organization's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.
  • Identify and disseminate best practices in control across various process areas and subsidiaries.
  • Support the identification of manual processes suitable for automation to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Recognize opportunities for process improvements, particularly those related to automation through available technologies.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
