The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in implementing innovative technology and process solutions that enhance Generac's fabrication and paint capabilities. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing a technology, capacity, and process roadmap to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Creating global equipment standards and justifying capital expenditures to optimize production efficiency.
  • Partnering with design engineering to improve Design for Manufacturability (DFM) in fabrication and welding.
  • Implementing robust Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement activities to maximize production capacity.
  • Determining equipment capacities and optimizing production among existing facilities.
  • Developing strategic outsourcing relationships to support business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with a focus on soft tooled sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Proven project management skills, with experience in acquiring and implementing new machine tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing Engineering experience with Amada and Salvagnini fabrication equipment.
  • Powder paint experience with Gema, Nordson, or Wagner spray booths.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software associated with sheet metal fabrication equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel may be required.
