Job Summary

The EHS Coordinator - Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring quality in Growing Media and Mulch products at the plant-level. This includes formulation oversight and testing, incoming raw material inspection, testing, and approval, and ensuring that all established specifications and processes are followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight and testing of product formulations to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Inspection, testing, and approval of incoming raw materials to ensure quality and safety.
  • Ensuring that all established specifications and processes are followed to maintain product quality and safety.
  • Investigating and resolving customer quality complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Administering and maintaining the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program, including OSHA, Oldcastle, and EPA requirements.
  • Routinely inspecting and observing plant equipment and activities to ensure safe processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Preparing and submitting required reports to regulatory agencies and company management.
  • Maintaining the plant's compliance with EHS regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • High school degree required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step-by-step instructions.
  • Adequate computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Environment

  • Lifting objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Enduring intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Working in extreme conditions such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt.
