About Workfit MedicalWorkfit Medical is in search of a dedicated Hospitalist to join our team in a tranquil setting characterized by low patient volumes and a supportive work atmosphere. This role is situated in a picturesque region known for its outdoor recreational activities, including water sports, hiking, skiing, and snowboarding.
Facility InformationOur facility is a non-profit critical access hospital, providing essential services such as inpatient detox, rehabilitation for substance use disorders, emergency care, imaging, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy.

- Provide thorough medical care to patients admitted to the hospital, addressing acute and chronic conditions as well as post-operative needs.
- Conduct regular rounds to monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as necessary, and maintain effective communication with nursing staff and the healthcare team.
- Respond to medical emergencies within the facility, including admissions from the emergency department.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive and effective patient care.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Valid medical license in New York and board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or a related specialty.
- Ability to obtain and maintain admitting privileges at the healthcare facility.
- Strong diagnostic and treatment skills across a variety of medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with patients and a diverse healthcare team.
- Capability to work independently and manage a range of medical cases typical in a rural healthcare environment.
This position provides a comprehensive overview of the expectations for a physician working in a rural hospital. Rural Hospitalists are specialized medical professionals dedicated to delivering a broad spectrum of healthcare services to underserved areas.
