Job Summary

Newman Regional Health is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health APP to provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and medication management services at our clinics. As a key member of our team, you will work in conjunction with primary care providers and the local mental health community to provide high-quality integrated behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide behavioral health services to patients in a clinical setting, including inpatient and outpatient evaluations, follow-up care, and medication management.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat adults, adolescents, and children experiencing symptoms of a behavioral health disorder.
  • Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
  • Collaborate with providers, social workers, or other treatment team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of medical records, including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, and outcome measures.
  • Examine or order laboratory or diagnostic tests for patients to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorders.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Behavioral Health or a related field.
  • Graduation from a state-certified advance practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience providing direct patient care for persons receiving treatment for behavioral health disorders.
  • Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH).
  • Unrestricted license to practice in the state of Kansas and a valid DEA number.
