Job Responsibilities

The RN Clinical Nurse I is responsible for delivering professional nursing care through thorough assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, in alignment with facility or departmental policies and protocols under the guidance of the nursing leadership. This role also involves maintaining a secure work environment and performing all job duties safely while ensuring clinical and professional competency appropriate to the patient population served.

  • Establish expected outcomes for a plan tailored to the healthcare consumer or situation.

  • Execute the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and implement strategies to promote health and safety.
  • Delegate aspects of care to suitable healthcare personnel in accordance with applicable legal or policy guidelines.
  • Assess progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
  • Practice in a manner that respects cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Communicate effectively across all areas of practice.
  • Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in nursing practice.
  • Exhibit leadership within the professional practice environment and the nursing profession.
  • Incorporate evidence and research findings into practice.
  • Contribute to the advancement of quality nursing practice.
  • Evaluate personal and others' nursing practices against professional standards and guidelines, relevant laws, and regulations.

Physical Requirements
This position requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support up to 35 pounds is necessary for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English communication is required. Candidates must possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity. Critical thinking and the ability to concentrate are essential, as is the capacity to respond promptly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing is mandatory.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Current Basic Life Support certification is mandatory as per policy guidelines. A valid RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is required, or if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as the primary state of residency, compliance with the licensure requirements in the home state is necessary; for Non-National License Compact states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state of practice.
