About the Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced Medical Optometrist to join our team in Largo, Maryland. As an Optometrist Medical Group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality eye care services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams for patients with diverse visual needs, utilizing advanced optometric techniques and instruments.
  • Diagnose and treat visual diseases, disorders, and deficiencies in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Preset and fit contact lenses to meet individual patient needs.
  • Assess the visual requirements of partially sighted individuals and recommend tailored solutions.
  • Recommend low-vision aids such as telescopic and microscopic lenses, magnifiers, and other optical devices to support patients with low vision.
  • In jurisdictions where licensed or under the standing orders of a physician, use diagnostic pharmaceutical agents to detect and diagnose ocular pathology.
  • Analyze ocular signs of systemic diseases and medications using clinical examination techniques.
  • Refer patients to other appropriate Kaiser Permanente providers when necessary for further evaluation and treatment.
  • Engage in departmental meetings, including peer review activities within the department and medical facility.
  • Collaborate with internal medicine, pediatrics, and ophthalmology on patient care matters.
  • Participate in developing eye care education programs for medical center staff and at patient education seminars.
  • Work under the standing orders of a physician and in co-management with an ophthalmologist to evaluate and manage stated anterior segment disorders.

Benefits and Requirements:

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, including a $50,000 sign-on bonus. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in Optometry and hold a valid Optometrist License in Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia.
