Join Our Team as a Power and Electrical Design Technician

As a Power and Electrical Design Technician, you will be part of our Power and Process Group, which is looking for individuals who can help us grow our Power & Process Division. If you enjoy working in a team environment, collaborating with staff, and have the entrepreneurial spirit, this is an opportunity for you.

Our market focus is twofold: 1) the production and distribution of power for private, municipal, and utility facilities; and 2) process-focused heavy industrial, chemical, midstream/downstream oil & gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform design computations by hand and by computer software, using experience, education, and judgment to make informed decisions.
  • Organize multiple tasks and complete them in an orderly fashion.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with the Engineer and other PEC Divisions to complete design tasks on numerous projects.
  • Review project submittals for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.
  • Organize project information and drawing files in a manner that is accessible and understandable for current and future use.
  • Research and understand client drafting and CAD standards and its relevance to the design process.
Qualifications:
  • 1-5 years of experience drafting and design of power and electrical systems.
  • Familiar with the NEC and NESC.
  • Must be a team player and have interest in developing and continuing to develop skills for a long-time career in the field of electrical engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD required, and Revit proficiency is a plus.
  • An understanding of how to produce a highly detailed set of electrical construction drawings is a must.
  • Must possess a high attention to detail and a proven ability to multi-task.
  • Strong desire to learn and be an integral part of a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in architectural or electrical engineering a plus but not required.
