Position: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Work Schedule: 12x3 Nights
Location: Newport, Vermont, United States
Contract Duration: 3 Years - Temp to Perm
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluating and overseeing the health status of expectant mothers before, during, and after labor.
- Supporting physicians and midwives during the childbirth process.
- Administering prescribed medications and performing essential medical tasks under the guidance of healthcare professionals.
- Providing coaching to mothers throughout labor, focusing on techniques for breathing and relaxation.
- Delivering postpartum support to mothers and infants, including monitoring health indicators and assisting with breastfeeding.
- Engaging with patients and their families to explain medical procedures and offer emotional reassurance.
- Maintaining accurate patient documentation and medical records.
- Operating and supervising medical devices such as fetal monitoring systems.
- Recognizing complications or emergencies and taking prompt action.
- Instructing parents on newborn care practices, including bathing, feeding, and cord maintenance.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of CURRENT experience in a similar role.
- Preferred certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB).
- Experience with Cerner EMR is required.
- Traveling staff may be required to assist with non-complex overflow patients (within their scope of practice).
- Traveling candidates must possess their own vehicle, which is a firm requirement.
Certification Requirements:

- PEARS
