Job Description

ROGERCO, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Social Media Communications Specialist to support an integrated communications effort for the Commander Naval Surface Force, Pacific (CNSP). As part of a team of creative writers and designers, you will help tell the Navy's story through social media, graphic design, photography, and video.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and curate engaging content for social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy to achieve CNSP communications objectives
  • Provide training to ships on social media use, OPSEC, and online conduct
  • Forecast events and campaigns requiring graphics and videos to support
  • Design and create occasional graphics and videos
  • Take photos and videos of ships arriving and departing San Diego for social media and printed products
  • Engage with relevant influencers and followers
  • Provide inputs for monthly reports
  • Brief Commanding Officers and Public Affairs Officers on social media best practices and Navy-wide policies
  • Monitor fleet ships' social media pages for compliance
  • Curate content for the web team
  • Process and release official Navy photos to DVIDS

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience (federal government or armed forces setting a plus)
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail
  • Experience managing social media accounts for a large organization
  • Experience with photography and videography production and post-production techniques
  • Active SECRET clearance
