Job Summary:
The Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) is a professional who works with a Radiologist to diagnose and treat patients using diagnostic imaging examinations like X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete the patient intake process, taking patients' histories, and preparing and educating patients about the imaging procedure.
- Review patients' charts and doctors' notes before the examination, and maintain patients' records during and after procedures.
- Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for contrast in the diagnostic images.
- Position patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images.
- Monitor patients and ensure their safety during imaging procedures.
- Calibrate the equipment to ensure clear, usable images are taken of the correct area as specified by the Doctor.
- Log and organize image results, develop film, assist with the interpretation of the radiograph results, and consult with Radiologists to determine if other images need to be taken.
- Ensure the proper sterilization and storage of the equipment, maintain radiographic equipment, and report any equipment failures.
- Coordinate with the radiology department to schedule and complete radiographic procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current radiology practices.
