Job Summary

Epic Systems Analyst role at Highmark Health requires a highly skilled professional to configure, roll out, and support assigned Epic applications. Key responsibilities include business/systems analysis, requirements definition, system design, and problem resolution. The analyst will communicate with system end-users to understand issues and implement solutions.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Plan, design, build, test, implement, and support Epic software needs.
  2. Analyze and determine system requirements and specifications. Document workflow analysis and evaluate user experience. Maintain environments or applications using domain knowledge. Create and maintain documentation and training materials regarding application implementation.
  3. Configure changes within Epic environments to provide standardized, comprehensive workflows. Correct issues, conduct routine maintenance, update systems with new functionality to meet end-user needs, and implement new technologies. Provide guidance and support to end-users to enhance Epic use and resolve system issues.
  4. Contribute to and manage small to medium projects independently. Update stakeholders on timely progress regarding assigned tasks, projects, and issues.
  5. Conduct problem-solving and root cause analysis to resolve routine to moderately complex problems. Identify solutions and complete documentation.

Experience

Required

  • 3 years of systems administration experience within one or more Epic modules.

Preferred

  • 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

Skills

  • Ability to handle analysis, design, system configuration, and testing tasks at basic to moderate levels of complexity.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Uses critical thinking skills for assigned tasks.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal teamwork.
  • Strong organizational skills in managing priorities.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of project management principles as they relate to assigned tasks.

Education

Required

  • Associates.

Substitutions

  • 2 years of relevant work experience in lieu of an Associate's Degree.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare or relevant experience.

Licenses or Certifications

Required

  • Epic Application Certification within 6 months.
