Family Medicine Physician - Medical Services Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team at Cape Fox Shared Services in support of the US Coast Guard (USCG) Multidiscipline Healthcare Services.
About the Role:
This position involves providing high-quality medical services to eligible beneficiaries within the capabilities normally granted to a board-certified Family Medicine/Internal Medicine (Primary Care) Physician. The successful candidate will meet or exceed industry standards, adhering to established principles, practices, and ethics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history, examination, testing, and diagnosis
- Develop and review treatment plans, consulting with referring medical professionals as needed
- Provide expert opinions in related medical matters and participate in case consultations
- Ensure preoperative and postoperative care, including immediate evaluation and management of emergent conditions
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation according to applicable regulations
- Maintain open communication with the Medical Department regarding medical emergencies and report to the Commanding Officer or authorized representative
- Promote health services quality improvement and provide instruction to clinic staff on an ad-hoc basis
Requirements:
- Board certification in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine
- Experience in primary care and emergency medicine
- Excellent clinical and communication skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
