Job Summary

Group14 Technologies is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Controls Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining all instrumentation and process control equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of instrumentation, including pH probes, level transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow meters, and related equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks using equipment such as process meters, process simulators, thermography, ultrasonic testing, megger, and oscilloscope.
  • Assist in developing, executing, and expanding a Preventive Maintenance program and working towards a tracking system with predictive maintenance practices.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent relative experience in an industrial or military environment.
  • A strong background in process controls and instrumentation.
  • Experience with variable frequency drives and smart field instruments is necessary.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and adjust shifts as needed and willing to assist in all maintenance-related activities, including facilities and other repairs as necessary.
  • Understanding of Preventive Maintenance programs (CMMS).
  • Understanding of industry-standard safety practices such as LOTO, PPE, permitting, hot work, equipment line break, fall protection, safe work, accident prevention, etc.
  • Must be able to read, follow, and identify components depicted on P/ID's, schematics, and engineered drawings.
  • Must pass an onsite aptitude demonstration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Parker, Allen Bradley, and Siemens AC variable frequency drives, PLCs, and associated protocols.
  • Experience working in a constantly changing start-up environment.
  • CMMS experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for a minimum of two hours without assistance.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear a full-face respirator for 30-60 minute periods.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and aerial lift platforms to work at heights up to 26 feet on a limited basis, 14 feet on average when needed.
