Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cook II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Cook II, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food to our residents in a safe and sanitary manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food according to prescribed menus and recipes
  • Portion and distribute food to residents
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Assist with food preparation and serving for special diets
  • Supervise and train other kitchen staff members as needed
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of food preparation methods and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to lift minimum of 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in hot and cold conditions
  • Ability to speak and read English
Working Conditions:

The Cook II will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and may be required to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
