Lead Cardiac Sonographer

Job Description
As a Lead Cardiac Sonographer, you will supervise the department which performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams on patients using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart. The testing modalities include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in overseeing, scheduling, and coordinating the sonographers of vascular department.
* Interview, terminate and conduct job performance reviews for associates.
* Input data for associates time and attendance, including making any changes needed in the time keeping system.
* Perform all essential job functions of a Registered Cardiac Sonographer.
* Demonstrate ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
* Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
* On call hours required.
Requirements:
* Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
* Required credentialed in echocardiography by one of the following organizations: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
* One year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (required)
* Two years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred)
* EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
* Picture archiving communication system (PACS) experience (preferred)
