About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Roadway Engineer to join our Texas team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expertise in roadway design, maintenance projects, and construction support. Your advanced concepts and techniques will be applied to unconventional engineering problems, and you will function as a technical specialist and trainer for less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply standard engineering practices and techniques in specific situations, including planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
  • Participate in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks, such as collection and analysis of data, performance of routine calculations, and evaluation of feasibility of alternate solutions.
  • Prepare bid packages for project meetings, plan, facilitate, and lead pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, and prepare assigned sections of reports under close review of a more experienced professional.
  • Participate on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications, assisting in recordkeeping, and generating progress reports.
  • Perform data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
  • Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
  • Perform engineering calculations and field observations of construction where appropriate.
Requirements
  • BS and/or MS in Engineering.
  • 7-10 years of engineering experience.
  • Must have highway/roadway design experience.
  • Must have experience with MicroStation.
  • Experience with ORD is preferred.
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project financial management and team management skills.
  • TxDOT experience is a plus but not a requirement.
  • PE required; Texas is preferred.
