Position Overview:
  • T-Mobile stands as America's leading Un-carrier, providing a robust 4G LTE and revolutionary nationwide 5G network that ensures dependable connectivity for everyone.
The Senior Engineers, Systems Architecture (Packet Core) role based in Bellevue, WA involves developing and refining technical network and service architectures, as well as designing strategies to maintain and enhance T-Mobile's technology portfolio. This position requires creating, adapting, or revising detailed schematics of network and service architecture, including hardware and software selections, along with implementation techniques and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct evaluations, simulations, or interpret test results and cutting-edge technology studies.
  • Utilize technical documentation and presentation skills to convey complex concepts to stakeholders and management.
  • Assess, plan, design, and develop advanced network technologies by translating customer needs or strategic business objectives into comprehensive product designs for high-complexity projects.
  • Manage timelines and vendor roadmaps to ensure T-Mobile's requirements are met and address any development gaps.
  • Support cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, including mobile data services and various EPC network platforms.
  • Evaluate new and existing technology options that align with business objectives.
  • Lead initiatives for network trials and proofs of concept.
  • Drive improvements in designs, processes, and products by reducing costs, establishing standards-based technology solutions, and enhancing efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with product design and business development teams on technical solution options and create detailed network design documentation.
Telecommuting: Remote work is allowed, but candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill Requirements:
  • Experience with the end-to-end flow of GSM/UMTS, LTE, and 3GPP standards.
  • Proficiency in mobile EPC core network nodes, including MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, SCEF, IMS, and VOLTE.
  • Familiarity with application protocols in mobile packet core, such as NAS, S1AP, S1-U, GTPv1, S11, S5/S8, Diameter, GTPP, S6a, Gx, Gy, and Charging.
  • Knowledge of IP network protocol stacks, including TCP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP.
  • Experience in developing design documents, performing network integration, validating network implementations, and optimizing mobile data networks and services.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors to create network designs that interface with multiple 3GPP network functions, ensuring nationwide scalability and high availability.

Experience and Education Requirements:

Primary Requirements:
Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related field, or its foreign equivalent, along with 3 years of relevant work experience.

Alternative Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related field, or its foreign equivalent, with 5 years of relevant work experience.

Compensation:
$162,655.58 to $176,100.00/year. The pay range is based on various factors, including work location, qualifications, and experience.
