We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at Texas Children's Hospital. As a PICU Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill pediatric patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and prioritize the needs of critically ill pediatric patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, including medication administration, treatments, and procedures.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and empowering them to participate in their care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient safety and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or an associate's degree, technical diploma, or current enrollment in a nursing bridge program.
- Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS American Heart Association certification.
- One (1) year of professional nursing experience in a pediatric intensive care unit or similar setting.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
