Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Dissertation Directors: Work closely with our Dissertation Directors to understand dissertation expectations and ensure a seamless support system for our learners.
  • Develop and Refine Dissertation Proposals: Assist learners in developing the structural components of their dissertation, including topic, problem statement, theoretical framework, purpose statement, research questions, research method, and research design.
  • Support Research Collection and Analysis: Guide learners through the research collection and analysis phase, ensuring they have the necessary tools and expertise to produce high-quality research.
  • Organize Findings and Recommendations: Assist learners in organizing their findings, conclusions, and recommendations, ensuring their dissertation is well-structured and effectively communicates their research.
  • Provide Timely Support and Feedback: Respond to learners in a timely manner, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their success.
  • Act as a Communication Center: Serve as a communication center for issues related to the dissertation, ensuring learners receive the support they need to overcome any challenges.
  • Offer Emotional and Spiritual Support: Provide emotional and spiritual support to learners as needed, recognizing the importance of their well-being throughout the dissertation process.
Qualifications
  • Strong Personal Christian Commitment: Possess a strong personal Christian commitment and be committed to the SNU mission to make Christlike disciples through higher education in a Christ-centered community.
  • Understanding of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity: Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of diversity, inclusion, and equity in higher education.
  • Terminal Degree: Hold a terminal degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of Two Years of Related Experience: Possess a minimum of two years of related work experience in the advisees' research interest.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Typing and Spelling Competency: Demonstrate typing and spelling competency, with the ability to produce high-quality written work.
  • Experience with Google Products: Have experience using Google products, particularly Google Documents.
  • Knowledge of APA 7th Edition: Possess knowledge of the APA 7th edition style guide.
