Job Summary:

As a Paramedic with Highmark Health, you will provide emergency medical care to patients in the prehospital environment. Your primary responsibilities will include determining the nature and extent of illnesses or injuries, providing basic and advanced life support, and completing required documentation according to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drives emergency or response vehicles to provide medical care to patients in need.

• Determines the nature and extent of illnesses or injuries, and provides basic and advanced life support as needed.

• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards, including maintaining accurate records of patient care and treatment.

• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies, including BLS and ALS medications, and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 5 years' relevant experience and current preceptor status for Prehospital Response Unit.

• PA certification as Paramedic or licensed PHRN.

• Valid Driver's License.

• EMSVO within 30 days of hire.

• ACLS within 30 days of hire.

• ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire.

• PALS within 30 days of hire.

• CPR – American Heart Association.

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.

• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician. ICS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS.

• One year experience (AHN EMS).
