Department OverviewOur specialized department provides diagnostic testing services for respiratory control, sleep staging, and esophageal pH recordings.
We are the only diagnostic sleep lab in the upper mid-west dedicated solely to the care of the pediatric population, serving patients from pre-term infants to young adults with special needs.
Our sleep lab is nationally accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, one of fewer than 10 fully accredited pediatric sleep laboratories in the United States.
Position SummaryThis position involves a wide range of responsibilities related to infant and pediatric diagnostic testing, impacting patient care and therapy options for referring physicians.
You will work closely with Sleep Disorder Providers, Sleep Psychology, nursing staff, patients, and families, as well as other healthcare professionals inside and outside the hospital.
Key procedures include polysomnograms, CPAP/Bilevel titrations, oxygen titrations, seizure montages, impedance pH testing, HST education and setup, EKGs, scoring 4-channel studies, sleep lab tours, and multiple sleep latency testing.
You will also work with patients who have a tracheostomy, PAP titrations, and ventilator weaning, and manage emergent situations or codes until the code team or emergency services arrive.
Requirements- Current Minnesota State RCP license required
- Current BLS certification required
- RPSGT obtained within 2 years of employment
- RRT preferred
- Graduate of Accredited Respiratory Therapy School required
- Pediatric healthcare experience
