Job Summary

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to provide strategic leadership and direction to our operating locations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of our annual business plans and overseeing the daily operations of our transportation contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Effectively manage on-time performance and driver availability daily to ensure seamless transportation services.
  • Fleet Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our fleet, including route planning, driver and staff scheduling, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Customer Relations: Work closely with our General Manager to manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach programs.
  • Financial Management: Participate in financial procedures, including payroll management and budgeting, to ensure the financial health of our division.
  • Staff Development: Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Safety and Compliance: Collaborate with our Safety Manager to oversee safety and training programs, plans, and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate transportation-related risks, such as accidents, delays, and vehicle damage.
  • Performance Metrics: Daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics to ensure we are meeting our goals and objectives.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure consistency across our operations.
Requirements
  • Management Experience: 1-3 years of management experience in a similar sized paratransit environment.
  • Transportation Knowledge: Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, including DOT regulations, and client contractual obligations.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with location staff and support team members.
