Position Summary:

The Speech Pathologist is responsible for the evaluation, planning, and implementation of speech and language therapy interventions as directed by a physician. This role focuses on restoring communication abilities and enhancing functional independence for patients recovering from illness or injury.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients referred for speech and language therapy.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans aimed at maximizing patient outcomes.
  • Implement therapeutic techniques to facilitate recovery and improve daily functioning.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Provide insights regarding budgetary needs related to speech therapy services.
  • Assist in coordinating patient appointments for evaluations and treatments.
  • Participate in infection control and safety programs to ensure a secure environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure in Speech Pathology.
  • Strong understanding of speech pathology principles and practices.
  • Proficient in executing technical skills pertinent to speech therapy.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and their relevance to patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Work Environment:

This position is part-time, requiring approximately 28 hours per week, with a schedule that includes daytime shifts. The role involves minimal physical exertion and is performed in a supportive and collaborative healthcare setting.
