Position SummaryThe Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team. This role will involve providing specialized services to patients from birth to age 21, including assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized plans. **Key Responsibilities:**
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' functional vision.
  • Develop and implement personalized plans to address patients' visual needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • Graduate of an accredited Teacher of the Visually Impaired program with 3-5 years of experience in pediatric care.
  • Certification in the State of Pennsylvania and expertise in treatment protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and patients/family members.
  • Proficiency in computer software and electronic documentation.
