At Emerson Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Specialist to join our team in the Central Supply department. Reporting to the Supervisor of Sterile Processing, this role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sterility in the preparation and processing of surgical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow departmental rules and regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures, to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Prepare and process surgical instruments and equipment for use in the operating room, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment and instruments, ensuring optimal functionality and minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of surgical procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a sterile processing course required.
- One to three years of experience in sterile processing or operating room experience strongly preferred.
- Certification in Central Service required.
- Excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Computer skills required, with ability to maintain confidential information.
