Job Overview

As a skilled Behavioral Therapist, you will play a critical role in supporting students with challenging behaviors in a school setting. This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Behavior Specialist.

  • Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors.
  • Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on the findings from the FBA, utilizing evidence-based strategies and techniques.
  • Provide training and support to staff members on the effective implementation of behavior intervention plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans by systematically collecting and analyzing data on student behavior.
  • Collaborate closely with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to ensure the student's unique needs are met and interventions are consistent across environments.
  • Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering valuable input on the development of goals and objectives related to behavior management.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in behavior analysis, and share this knowledge with school staff members to foster continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential.
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities and challenging behaviors in a school setting preferred but not required.
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies.
  • Display a strong knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to special education and behavior management in schools.
