Job Title: Housekeeper - Housing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Presbyterian Villages of Michigan. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our residential units and common areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain all common areas, including corridors, lounges, reception areas, restrooms, storage, and supply areas.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Wash windows, blinds, walls, ceilings, and woodwork as necessary.
  • Move and arrange furniture.
  • Replenish bathroom items and wash and disinfect using approved cleaning solutions.
  • Wash and disinfect bathroom and kitchen fixtures/appliances using approved cleaning solutions.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Clean rugs and carpets using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
  • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Disinfect equipment and supplies using germicides.
  • Maintain adequate levels of supplies by reporting accurate inventory to the manager/lead for replenishment.
  • Collect dining room and resident laundry, sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines and dryers, iron and fold dried items.
  • Follow established policies and procedures, including Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures, safety policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or currently enrolled in a program if under 18.
  • No prior experience necessary.
  • Must be able to operate a computer.

Work Environment:

The employee will work inside, but will have regular exposure to fumes and airborne particles, occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, noise, etc. Care and alertness required when working with machinery, equipment, and cleaning agents.
