Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to fulfill travel assignments at various healthcare facilities. This role is essential for providing high-quality histological services in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in Formalin and Frozen section techniques, Grossing, and Fixation. Experience with both Automated and Manual microtome operations is required.
  • Microtomy Skills: Ability to cut tissue sections using microtome and cryostat, including embedding GI specimens and large specimens.
  • Staining Proficiency: Experience with a variety of staining techniques, including Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E), IHC Staining, and Special Stains.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role is preferred.
  • Licensure: A valid state license is required.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with Roche Ventana Ultra and Benchmark Special Stainer is essential.
Work Environment

This position is based in a Short Term Acute Care facility with a total of 615 staffed beds, providing a comprehensive range of services including Level II Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma.

  • Shift Details: 5x8 shifts from 22:30 to 07:00.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Vaccination is required, with exemptions accepted for medical or religious reasons.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license is mandatory for all candidates.
