Position Overview
Under the guidance of management and physician leadership, the Clinical Support Specialist plays a vital role in facilitating clinical operations. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring optimal patient flow by assisting in the delivery of primary and preventive healthcare services, executing technical procedures, and adhering to lab protocols under the direction of healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Support Specialist will collaborate with management to enhance office efficiencies in alignment with established policies and procedures, ensuring smooth operations that prioritize support for physicians, clinic staff, and management, all while embodying a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties
- Serve as an aide to the physician/provider, delivering primary healthcare and managing patient care.
- Work in conjunction with clerical staff to streamline operations and improve patient flow.
- Engage with external healthcare facilities and agencies concerning patient care and insurance matters.
- Maintain up-to-date competencies, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and accreditation bodies regarding processes and workflows.
- Perform front office responsibilities as needed.
- Provide support in other departments or locations as required.
- Exhibit exceptional customer service skills, supporting a model of patient and family-centered care.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (LPN, EMT, ER Tech, paramedic) along with relevant experience.
Preferred:
- Consideration may be given to nursing students from an accredited registered or licensed practice nurse program after initiating clinical coursework.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC is required upon hire.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry weights up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting are required.
- Must demonstrate good hand dexterity and the ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills.
