Psychiatrist

The Psychiatrist will provide high-quality, compassionate, and trauma-informed psychiatric care to clients at Lyon-Martin Health Services Inc. This role requires a strong commitment to serving the LGBTQIA+ community and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to clients, including medication management and intervention services.
- Collaborate with the integrated healthcare team to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Develop and maintain a continuity panel of clients, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Document patient information and records, including social and medical history, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up for all aspects of ordered care, including specialty referrals and laboratory results.
- Provide specialized substance use disorder treatment to clients with complex psychiatric needs.
- Participate in weekly mental health team meetings, monthly Collaborative Care meetings, and other administrative/clinical duties as assigned.
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited United States medical school.
- Successful completion of internship and residency in psychiatry with experience managing substance use disorder.
- Board Certified in Psychiatry.
- Valid and active California medical license, without any limitations on license to practice in specialty.
- Eligible to participate in the CMS Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement programs.
- Experience using harm reduction and trauma-informed care models within psychiatry practice.
- Valid and active DEA license with X waiver to prescribe buprenorphine.
- Current BLS/ACLS certificate or recertification within 2 months of hire.
- Culturally sensitive/humble and able to work with a diverse population.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Outlook, internet applications, zoom, computer technology, and phone use.
- Experience working with lesbian, bisexual, transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and intersex communities.
- Experience working with populations with varying disabilities, racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, and economic statuses.
- Interest in and commitment to gender affirming health care and health care access for underserved populations.
